Diigo has announced via email that the public beta has opened. The self-described "social annotation" solution incorporates social bookmarking, web "highlighting", sticky-Note & Clipping to make it a powerful tool for online research, collaboration and information management and discovery. When I kicked the tires a few months ago, I thought it was a bit ugly, but a glance today leads to a new appreciation, although I haven't spent any serious time with it.
