AOL Acquires Userplane

Userplane announced this morning that the instant messaging company had been acquired by AOL. It seems the company will continue to operate relatively autonomously, at least for the present. AIM interoperability will provide a big boost for Userplane, especially with big clients, like Friendster and Date.com.

Marshall Kirkpatrick opines that the technology is going to be integrated throughout AOL properties. Hmmm. My bet is that won't happen, or at least, it won't happen fast.
