It looks like a great event, and several of my clients will also be speaking. The guy behind all this is Ismael Ghalimi, an inveterate entrepreneur, and the principal author of IT|Redux, the blog that was the staging ground for Office 2.0 as a concept, and now, as a conference. As the conference website states,

The first Office 2.0 Conference is organized by IT|Redux, and brings together Office 2.0 companies, early adopters, investors, industry analysts, and journalists. The goal for the event is to collectively build the foundation for Office 2.0, investigate technical challenges, and showcase practical applications. Most importantly, it will be an opportunity for like-minded people to meet and network with an elite group of visionaries and industry leaders.

/Message readers can get a $30 discount by registering before 1 September and using the promo code "Stowe Boyd" in the "how did you hear about the conference" field on the registration page.

What is this, an Estrogen Anonymous meeting?

Dear Anonymous,

Good point. We would love to have more female speakers at the event. Any suggestions for candidates?

Stowe, looking forward to it the conference and your presentation. The whole Office 2.0 idea is gaining traction and the conference line-up is impressive. I was speaking with a business reporter recently at the Wash Post and was surprised when I was asked (out of left field) my thoughts on Office. 2.0. Referred him to directly Ismael...

Brian,

Thanks for the plug. Much appreciated!

Holy wow...Jeneane is right. One woman? Am I reading it right? A gazillion speakers and one woman?

Shelley is right...we are far from equality.

Yes, I have a suggestion - Do your own damn research.

It's not that hard. Just step out of your little bubble for a minute and you'll see that there are hundreds of talented women that could speak at this conference.

Meanwhile I'm encouraging clients and colleagues to avoid this conference. Sorry you had to be the last straw, Ismael, but there it is.
