Blog Council Goes Blogless?

So, a bunch of corporate bloggers at "Major" corporations got together and formed the Blog Council. Ok, cool.

The Blog Council is where the people who run large companies’ blogs share best practices and new ideas. Most of what we do is in our member community.

I (and Brian Solis, at least) get a kick out of the fact they have no blog there. Maybe they just don't want to share with everybody else.

"Council" comes off as something authoritative, and as such, contrary to the spirit of blogging.

Ironically, I think that the site runs on a blog platform, like Andy's other sites.

Or, maybe, since they're not holding their first meeting until next month, they don't have anything to blog about yet.

Shel - That's like suggesting product companies don't have to blog until they release their products. Not a great way to set context, gather insights, present a manifesto, whatever. Better to blog early and often.

I looked into this but it turned out to be a pretty pricey proposition. It's often hard enough to get an organization to support the transparency and time investment that's inherent in blogging...it's yet another to ask someone to cough up $10K from their expense budget to cover membership to something like this!
