Duncan Watts doesn't believe that influencers are critical for viral trends to spread. Hmmm. I bet he's wrong. Like saying school kids don't spread the flu.

He can say what he likes, based on his computer simulations, but it turns out that school children spread the flu more than others do. It's their level of touchy involvement with each other at school, and that leads to epidemics. If you inoculate them for flu, the epidemics don't happen, even when others are not inoculated.
