Hugh MacLeod: Giving Up On The Blogosphere
[from Twitter]Sorry, Gang, I just don't think I can do the "Blogosphere" thing any more. Gonna do something else. Already doing it, actually.
Looks like Hugh has burned out on blogging.

so what is he doing then? more importantly what trends are he seeing that have caused his departure?

I'm not sure Hugh is necessarily THE trendspotter ...
What I think is interesting is his semi-breathless three or four past years of "all is blogging, blogging is all", change the world or go home, connect and communicate for pussy, etc.
... and now he's tired or bored or blogged out.
Welcome to real life ... marketers and copy writers (may) have short attention spans and / or need for different stimuli.
Actually, Hugh has said any number of times on Twitter that he "lives" more of his online life on Twitter than via blogging now .. which is arguably combining micro-blogging with staying in conversation with his 5 or 6 echo-chamber conversees.
What I am more curious about is his curious silence now that Stormhoek's poo has hit the blades (Origin Wines, etc.). He had no compunctions about doing several video interviews with Origin Wines head honcho about how Stormhoek blogging / social object marketing was changing the world for wine marketing ... not so much anymore, I guess.
