Movino: S60 Nokia Phones Can Be Used As WebCam On Mac OS X
I was hoping that I could find a way to use my new n82 as a webcam. Specifically, I wanted a way to webcam the screen of my Mac, which can't be done with the built-in iSight. I came across this post -- iSight replaced by Nokia N95: Movino -- that led me to Movino's solution.
I installed some software on my Mac and some on my n82, and easily was able to use the n82 as a webcam, via bluetooth, for example with Skype:
However, I have been unable to get Flash-based web applications -- like Mogulus, for example -- to sense the N82 as a valid device.
The Movino software also allows me to stream video from my phone directly to the harddrive on my Mac. This application is a bit less interesting, considering that on one hand I can record on the n82 and stream it over later, or I can use services like Qik or Flixwagon to stream directly and live to the web.
But, all things considered, Movino fills a gap in my toolkit for video, and I am happy that it seems to work so well and so simply.

movino is awesome. bambuser.com is build upon it. i guess its the same people, too. and too bad that it doesnt play with mogulus. that was also what i checked, when i saw it. would so love to have that.

Nice. I've been trying to get the same thing going on my n82 but with Windows. No luck so far, but I think I'm missing some steps on the laptop. Otherwise, the n82 is great with bluetooth connectivity and I can use it as a modem. Love the Symbian OS!
