Not really a question, but my theory on Kickstarter backers was that you'd have a huge number of one-project backers due to friends and family, existing fans of the creator, project-specific marketing, and so on, with a big cliff after one (which appears to be the case).
Where I went wrong was thinking that if someone jumped off that cliff by backing more than one or project, engaging with Kickstarter as a whole, they'd tend continue to browse and back projects, so that you'd up with a peak at one for the passers-by, a big dip in the rest of the low single digits, and then a broad (and much, much lower) peak made up of people who discover and back a project or two every month.
But, as I said, that doesn't appear to be the case. :)
I understand your thinking, but I presumed the usual power laws, where the best (most popular) 10% would get 90% of all votes.
