Reimagining Urban Design Ford Foundation Visionaries Award Receipitent and Architect Teddy Cruz tells the story of his work to transform the poor and overlooked neighborhoods of the Tijuana-San Diego border region.

Cities will be the wellspring of the next world, where we apply what we know about human society, and accelerate our reintegration based on a new liquid foundation. Cruz envisions a bottom-up, participatory restructuring of neighborhoods, that cooperate with others in the larger metro context, but retain great autonomy as well.
