Supernova Using All My Metaphors
I am getting a perverse pleasure out of the metaphor storm coming from the upcoming Supernova.
First, a few weeks ago, I saw that the conference will be having a “Flow Roundtable”, a term that I have been associating with streaming applications for years. I inquired, and I am not invited to participate.
Today, Chris Carfi sent out a promotional email talking about “The Web Of Pages”:
We are moving from a web of pages and sites to a rich and continuous stream of interactions. Historically, we often thought of the web using a metaphor of “real estate,” with accompanying lexicon of “sites” and “locations.” However, as the Network Age has evolved, we now are beginning to realize that the web has duality, and also has characteristics of a real-time flow as well.
Just google it, folks.
Next they’ll start wearing caps on backwards, or have a session on Edglings or Microsyntax.
