Real Time Really Disruptive Media Conference in Stockholm
Looks I was responsible for a conference coming up in Stockholm this October:
[from Real-time / Twitter conference in Stockholm by Annika Lidne]
At a bouncing post-Reboot street party in Copenhagen honouring the late Michael Jackson, Internet philosopher Stowe Boyd - who I also met at Jeff Pulver‘s 140conference (about Twitter) - convinced me that I must hold a conference around Twitter and real time conversation in Stockholm this fall. So, without much ado, I give you Real-time Really Disruptive Media in the middle of October in Stockholm. (Time and place to be determined).
Real time conversation technologies like Twitter, Friendfeed and Facebook status updates allow us in 140 characters to quickly spread news, rumours, ideas and opinions faster than the speed of sound. They let people get friends all over the world across national, religious and race barriers. They upend the traditional news reporting model, they allow politicians real time dialogue with their voters and constituents, they give companies the possibility to connect directly with their customers, and let customers expect real time response and support. They raise important issues around identity and privacy, of the borderline between our different roles: professional, personal and private, and not least of trust and transparency.
I have been asked to attend and speak, and I am working out how to fit that into a chaotic schedule, but I hope to work it all out.
