Dopplr Launches Q&A, Appoints Marko Ahtisaari As CEO

Dopplr has been moving toward becoming a comprehensive social travel site (see Social Network Subscription At Dopplr, Dopplr: Building A Social Atlas), and this morning I received the first email from Dopplr that had requests for information from other Dopplrites planning to visit San Francisco and London, cities I have visited quite a lot. Here’s what the UI looks like for the questions:

I fired off a bunch of answers, and I look forward to trying this from the other side — asking advice on a city where I am not so much a geolocal.

I continue to believe that solutions like Dopplr are the future of travel knowledge, not Fodor’s or Michelin.

Also, today Marko Ahtisaari was appointed CEO of the company, and Lisa Sounio will continue on the board as Chairman. I think the world of Marko, who has been an investor in Dopplr for some time, so this is great news. Congratulations to the team.
