New Drop.io UI

New Drop.io UI, originally uploaded by Stowe Boyd.

Drop.io has announced a new, much more attractive UI (above). However, many of the concerns I had after using the product extensively a few months back remain (see A Deep Dive Into Drop.io). For example, the identity model is weird, and as a result it’s impossible to know who has posted, uploaded, or commented in ‘drops’, which makes it usable but annoying.

The company has included a ‘Plans’ tab in the product UI, that leads to this:

Drop.io Managed Solutions - coming soon!
Bring the benefits of ‘drops’ to your business
Collaborate and share with an unlimited number of colleagues and clients with ‘drops’ that are:

* Simple: Quickly and easily set-up, share, and access any type or size files

* Private: Non-searchable, non-networked, password protected sharing both inside and outside a firewall

* Professional: Customize drops with corporate logos and colors and a gallery-like media presentation

Drop.io’s Managed Solutions bring the power of drops to professionals and organizations with these additional features:

* Management: Organize, administer, and monitor multiple drops from a single interface

* Control: Seamlessly apply customized branding, storage capacity, privacy settings, and more to multiple drops

* $$ Value: Increase employee productivity while decreasing IT costs by reducing email server loads, replacing FTP sites, and minimizing IT support/management - all without any hardware or software to install!
