Another Small Step/Giant Leap…

guest post by David Cushman

Just came across SocialMention (via Mashable). Looks like what you’d get if summize (twitter search) came busting out of its one-network silo and went trawling the internet (which, is what summize has been promising for some little time now).

As such, a useful finger in the air for sentiment.

But let’s not forget, that’s all it is.

Listening just gives you your first small step on a journey to the connected future.

And for many, that’s one giant leap.

Creative, user-adaptable responses - which involve your communities in their creation - take you much further along that road.

But responding, with real time real human interaction to what you hear; that is how you’ll meet the needs all this listening reveals. It’s how you’ll become the services, products, brands and businesses communities need and want to be part of.

It’s how you will gain safe passage to the future.

You know, the one in which socially, networked, human businesses flourish.
