Hinchcliffe&Co Acquired By Dachis Group
In a move that will surprise few, Dachis Group has acquired Hinchcliffe&Co. Dion Hinchcliffe is a well-known and highly regarded writer, speaker, and consultant in Web 2.0, social business, and cloud computing circles. Dachis Group is a fast growing consultancy, dedicated to helping its clients capture value through social business design. It seems a perfect fit.
I spoke with Dion about this match up last night, and he started by stressing the quality of the people at Dachis (a view I agree with), and how they seem to be building a business culture around deep value for clients.
I have known Dion for years, and he is a brilliant theoretian and pragmatic advocate. Like Lee Bryant, another old friend who merged his company, Headshift, with Dachis Group last year, Dion sees the synergies very clearly. Headshift and Hinchcliffe&Co were successful and growing fast when the opportunity to join forces with Dachis Group arose, and both made the decision to double down on the future and move ahead as a larger, more capable team.
I wish all involved the best, and I am certain that all the clients will be benefitted by the increase in breadth and depth that this merger represents.
(disclosure: Dachis Group is a sponsor of the upcoming Social Business Edge show in NYC, 19 April 2010, and Dion is editor of the Social Computing Journal, which is a media partner for the show, too.)
