PostRank Announces DoucheRank

PostRank™ Announces the Launch of DoucheRank™ Social Judgment Service

Waterloo, Ontario, Canada — April 1, 2010 — PostRank Inc.™, developers of the groundbreaking social engagement metrics analysis platform and service, is excited to announce the launch of their new social judgment service, DoucheRank™ (http://doucherank.com).

DoucheRank™ is the result of months of research and key technological innovations (patent pending) that gather and analyze volume, frequency, and patterns of internet consumers’ online activities to determine just how douchey they really are. The proprietary algorithms analyze myriad data points and normalize publishers’ social networking efforts against their relentless thirst for attention and accolades, resulting in a comprehensive score that definitely answers that age-old quandary: am I a douche?

“New social sites and apps continue to be launched online, even though they’re all pretty much the same and we can’t even begin to keep track of them all anymore,” noted PostRank CEO, Carol Leaman, “Surely there must be some reason people neglect their careers, families, and in-person social interactions to build one-click relationships with people they’ve never met.”

The new DoucheRank™ service records and measures common social activities, such as commenting on your peers’ blogs because they asked you to, following uninteresting people on Twitter because you don’t want to appear rude, or befriending people on Facebook to avoid drama, even though you didn’t like them in high school and haven’t seen them in 15 years. DoucheRank’s™ algorithms then weigh these activities to determine their rankings on a scale of disingenuousness, shallowness, and desperation.

Commented Ilya Grigorik, PostRank’s CTO, “With my prodigious understanding of advanced technologies, I could be curing cancer or inventing 4D programming languages or something. But preying on people’s crippling insecurity and lack of real-life social skills is where the money’s at, so we’ve heavily invested PostRank’s R&D in DoucheRank’s™ development.”

DoucheRank™ is currently available for free public use at DoucheRank.com™, and the company says it plans to introduce a freemium model and an iPhone app by Q3, as well as synergistically shifting some paradigms outside the box by early 2011.

About PostRank Inc.™

PostRank is at the leading edge of providing data and analysis to publishers and audiences with a sense of humour. Based in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada, PostRank develops services that capture and make sense of social engagement data on the web, and would never dream of insulting the entire population of the internet for their own amusement. The company launched its first filtering and ranking service in July 2007, and ever since Ilya has occasionally registered funny domain names with the hopes of being able to employ them for awesome pranks. PostRank tracks over 50 million social engagement events each day, which is actually useful for publishers to discover their audiences, track readers’ engagement activities with content, and build relationships and influence.
