Basket For My Xootr
I got a removable basket for my Xootr. It’s made by Wald, intended for bicycles, but I figured it might work.

Wald Bicycle Baskets, Training Wheels, Fenders, Racks, and Accessories | Wald 3133 Basket, originally uploaded by Stowe Boyd. The Xootr has very small handlebars, but the photo looked like the gear intended to clamp the basket catch system to the handlebars would fit. Turns out to be perfect!
xootr basket, originally uploaded by Stowe Boyd.I put it on the inside so the thing isn’t too ‘forward inclined’ with all the weight in the basket. Also the handbrake was in the way in front.
It looks like it would be in the way, but I barely bump it with my hips when I push along.
I also plan to use it when I get take out.

xootr basket lock, originally uploaded by Stowe Boyd. The lock is cool. You line up the basket hooks with the wire at the base of the basket (down at the bottom in the picture), then you turn the handle of the basket from one side to the other, which allows the end of the handle to slide into a catch, and locks the basket. The opposite — uncatching it by just lifting the handle, in the intuitive way — just works.
The Xootr guys should contract with Wald to make a better frame, one designed for the Xootr. I use a bungie to hold it to the front post. I think a velcro strip would be better, or a clamp of some sort designed for the post.
Still it works great!
