Jangl Call Anyone Service

I was emailed about a new service from Jangl that allows you to get a phone number to call anyone who has an email. For example, you could try to find a number to call me via my gmail account:

http://callme.jangl.com/stowe.boyd@gmail.com

Which provides a Jangl intermediary number assigned to my email address. You call the number — note: that you have to sign up with Jangle to do so — and Jangl provides a number to call. If the recipient of the email address has registered with Jangl in the past, Jangl intermediates and transfers the call to the email owner’s number. If the recipient hasn’t registered, Jangl sends an email with the voicemail message attached: if the email owner then signs up, they can call you back, using the same intermediation approach.

A pretty cool idea, although it is only really fast and easy if people have already registered. After all, I already have the email address, and I could simply send an email telling the other person to call me, which is what Jangl does in the ‘doesn’t have a Jangl account’ case, anyway.
