First Look: New Version of Kiko
I want to use Kiko, because it is beautiful, and has gmail style “labels” (tags), but I can’t: at least not yet.

The features that I need to make the transition to a web-based calendar have got to be in place so that I can make the move. For example, I couldn’t import my Gmail contacts into Kiko — they say they are working on a generalized solution to syncing with everything in sight, but… And I really need a to do list, and iCal publish and subscribe.
The RSS feed on the ‘upcoming’ calendar view is great, as are the integration with IM services for notification.
Here’s what coming:

Here are some of the things we are working on to make Kiko an even better online calendar solution.
- Export your calendar to iCal
- Adding support for n-weekly recurrence of an appointment (biweekly, every 3 weeks, etc).
- Internationalization support: Monday week start, quickcreate with day/month dates.
- Synchronization service, that implements SyncML, so you can keep your Kiko calendar in sync with Outlook, iPod, PDA, mobile phones, and any SyncML device.
- A TO-DO list
- A web services API
- Safari support
- Translation into Spanish, German, and Russian Anyone want to volunteer for other translations? Just leave a note here.
- Having reminders sent to multiple contact methods and changing the reminder duration to accept natural language (ex: 1 day 6 hours, 30 minutes, etc).
- Printing month, week, and day views via PDF.
- Improved sharing features: permissions by label and contact group, viewing multiple calendars at once, calendar subscriptions.
Sounds like it’s all there. Better hurry before Google Calendar comes out, though.
