Moved to Wordpress

I am going to be dramatically revamping my Typepad set-up for /Message over the next week or so. Pardon my dust as I am futzing around.

The motivating cause is my desire to get Sphere working on the blog, which has proven to be a real headache. The nice people at Wordpress — solicited by Tony Conrad of Sphere — discussed moving me over to Workpress, but that soon started to look like a real major headache: partly because I have three blogs at Typepad, now, but just because I don’t want any breakage. Then the nice people at Six Apart offered to help me, but it rapidly became clear that I know just as much about Typepad’s vagaries as many of the Six Apart staff, if not more.

So, expect a template that looks something like this one, but with only one sidebar, on the right, new logo, no banner ad along the top, and a reduction in clutter of various sorts.

More to follow.

Update!! /Talkshow: Tony Conrad of Sphere at 11am 7 8 June

Update: I goofed on dates. Turns out I asked Tony to be on the show tomorrow, 8 June, at 11am PT. So that’s when it will be.

I have Tony Conrad lined up as a guest for today’s tomorrow’s /Talkshow. Tony is founder and CEO of Sphere, a blog search technology. Tonay and I will be talking about Sphere and the future of search.

/Talkshow: This Week Reboot, Next Week Tony Conrad

I am in Copenhagen this week, for the Reboot conference. I interviewed Thomas Madsen-Mygdal, the founder of Reboot, last week about the upcoming show and the soul of Reboot. This week I will be trying to broadcast live from wherever we are partying Thursday evening 7:30pm Copenhagen time, which is 10:30am PT. I plan on dragging in various folks that are attending.

Next week I will be back in PT, briefly, and I will be interviewing Tony Conrad, CEO of Sphere, on the future of search. That will be 11:00am PT on 7 June 2007.
