Work With Me

Tactical

My tactical consulting work is generally short projects with social tools developers, large corporations, non-profits, or government agencies. Often these are working sessions or retreats where product strategies are reworked or technology adoption is planned. There can also be longer range design projects, working closely with a team of developers or an organization deploying new tools.

In some cases, clients may ask for an on-going series of meetings, on a quarterly or biannual basis, but generally such long term relationships become strategic in nature.

Example engagements:

  • Supporting quarterly executive retreat, including keynote presentation and leading a workshop on new directions in technology, product development, or futurism.
  • Two day product assessment and action plan development with start-up working on version 2.0.
  • Design and rollout of a blogging program and platform for a magazine.

Strategic

Most of my work involves long-term strategic relationships with social tools developers. Often this grows from a short-term, tactical engagement, but the largest benefits from advisory work come over time.  This work is usually focused on product strategy — developing the right social tool for some idealized community of users — as well as the positioning of that product in the competitive context.

In most cases, this advisory work involves an advisory board position, although that is not always the case.

If you’d like to discuss my consulting with you, please contact me.
